Charges possible for vet who posted cat photo
Kristen Lindsey is out of a job because of this Facebook post

BRENHAM, TX (KTRK) -- Investigators in Austin County are looking to talk to a veterinarian who posted a shocking Facebook picture bragging about killing a cat with a bow and arrow.

The sheriff's office says the possibility of criminal charges is not off the table.

The cat's name is Tiger and the orange and white tabby hasn't been seen since last week. The fear is that he is the same cat in a Facebook post by a now-unemployed veterinarian.

In it, Kristen Lindsey allegedly wrote, 'My first bow kill. The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through its head... Vet of the year award."

Amy Hemsell is concerned the cat in the picture is Tiger.

"I just want to get a confirmation if it's Tiger or not," she said.

Lindsey was fired last Friday from the Washington Animal Hospital in Brenham.

"Those actions don't any way portray what we're here for at Washington Animal Hospital," said Dr. Bruce Buenger with the hospital. "We put our heart and soul in this place."

Lindsey received her vet degree from Colorado State University. She lives on what appears to be an old farm in Austin County. She has hired an attorney.

The county sheriff's office is investigating, but has yet to hear from Lindsey.

"We haven't heard yet from the person who took the picture and whether they'll talk to us or not," said Austin County Sheriff Jack Brandes. "We don't know but we're working hard and obtaining all evidence we can obtain.))

Lindsey has taken down her Facebook page. Another one has replaced it. Also, her alma mater has posted a statement on Lindsey.
