New app brings beauty to your doorstep

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- If you need a glam squad to get you red carpet ready for a big event, look no further. There are new services in Houston that will come to you and make you over!

The beauty app called Blownaway is a beauty at your doorstep business that just launched in Houston.

"Blownaway is a technology company that is all about connecting clients and stylists. The name comes from the experience, we want our clients to be blown away from the experience," said Blown Away's Smoot Carter.

In just four taps on the app, clients select a style, time and date to book an appointment. Then, the stylists are on their way to your home to be your personal glam squad.

"As a mother of two, I do know it's hard to find time, to make an appointment and get someone to babysit the kids, and do all of that. Through our app, we can come to you, your kids can be there we can make you beautiful for your special event," said Bianca Gantt with the Blownaway App.

The cost of a Blownaway blowout is $65 and you can choose from several different styles. A makeup application costs $70, but these prices include tax and tip so no cash is ever exchanged.

There is a promo code for ABC-13 viewers to try the service. Use the code ABC15 to save $15 on all blowouts, and ABCCOMBO saves $30 on all blowout/makeup combos.

"I am totally blown away because it is the most convenient thing in a busy world," said Blownaway client Sheree Frede.

There is another Houston competitor to Blownaway that offers similar services. Be Glammed offers blowouts for $60 and makeup applications and touchups starting at $30.
