Deadly shooting under investigation in SW Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Questions remain after a deadly shooting in southwest Houston.

HPD says one person has died after someone opened fire at an apartment complex on Beechnut and Leawood.

Very few details after a deadly shooting on Beechnut.

The victim was driven by a friend to the West Houston Medical Center, where they died.

Police say the victim's friend said they were involved in the shooting on Beechnut.

We do not yet know the identity or gender of the victim, and hope to learn from investigators shortly exactly what led up to the shooting.
