Baytown police warn residents not to let in scammers posing as city workers

BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) -- Police in Baytown are warning people to be aware of scam artists. They're posing as city workers, asking to test your water, and enter your home.

Baytown police want you to know that city employees will never ask to enter your home without previously making an appointment. They will always wear a Baytown city uniform and carry an ID badge.

Police also warn if someone is asking to come into your home, close the door and call 911.
