PEARLAND, TX (KTRK) -- Authorities say a man acting erratically at a bank in the Pearland area was stabbed by a customer during a struggle.

According to the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office, the suspect walked into a bank in the 10000 block of West Broadway Street around 4:20pm and started going into employee only areas. He banged on doors and started trashing the bank.

Employees convinced the man to leave but he returned a short time later. Employees locked the front door but the suspect, determined to re-enter the bank, shattered the glass and made his way back inside.

A customer inside the bank jumped into action. He convinced the man to go back outside then tried to flag down officers. The man attacked the customer, and that's when the customer pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed the suspect in the shoulder.

The man was taken to the hospital to treat his injuries, the extent of which remains unclear. The customer was uninjured in the incident.

Authorities estimate the man caused about $10,000 in property damage at the bank.

The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office says no charges have been filed yet, but they could be coming.
