HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Authorities are asking for the public's help to find a bank robber who had a bandaged hand while holding up a bank Saturday in north Houston.
The FBI's Violent Crime Task Force says the robbery happened at 2:12pm at the First Convenience Bank inside the Walmart in the 10400 block of North Freeway on Saturday.
The man the FBI has dubbed the "bandaged bandit" walked into the bank alone with a note in his bandaged right hand. Authorities say he approached a teller and handed her the threatening note that demanded cash.
The man did not show a weapon during the robbery and no one was hurt. However, the robber did get away with an undisclosed amount of cash. He got away in a black SUV with a sunroof in the Walmart parking lot.
The man is described as a black male wearing sunglasses, a long sleeved black shirt, and possibly jeans. His entire right hand was bandaged with a tan colored medical wrap.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000.00 for information leading to the charging and arrest of this robber. If you have information about this case, please call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 713-222-TIPS (8477), or the Houston office of the FBI at 713-693-5000.
