HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A number of resources are available around the Houston area to help families get the supplies they need for their children as they head back to school.
Check the list below to see what these free events have to offer.
HISD's Back to School Extravaganza
Friday, August 23

Houston ISD families can receive free school supplies as well as health and dental screenings to help prepare for the 2019-2020 school year.
Free assistance will also be available to help with Medicaid applications, Children's Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) renewal and recertification, and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
