Australian chases suspect wearing only his underwear

AUSTRALIA (KTRK) -- It's not unique for a citizen to do something heroic to help police catch a suspected bad guy, what is unusual is for them to do it in their underwear.

That's exactly what happened in the "land down under."

Daniel McConnell says he was lying in bed when someone crashed their car into a store nearby.

McConnell jumped out of bed and began to chase the suspect wearing only "his undies."

"I'm like, what are you doing, mate? And he's like, 'Uhhh, I fell asleep behind the wheel...' and he started to take off, and I started following him, and he said don't be a hero, and I said, 'I'm not being a hero, mate,'" said McConnell.

McConnell followed the guy until police arrived, all while in his underwear.
