3 women accused of assaulting deputy during kidnapping attempt

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Three women are behind bars accused of trying to kidnap a child.

On Sunday a deputy was assaulted while trying to stop Andrea McRath and two other women from running off with her child. All three women were later detained.

Deputies found out the women had forced their way into the home to take the child from their father, whom the child has lived with since birth.

All three are charged with burglary of habitation.
