Judge Emmett to launch newest Astrodome plan

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Harris County Judge Ed Emmett is expected to announce a new plan for the future of the Astrodome Tuesday. Judge Emmett calls this new proposal an "innovative reuse" of the stadium.

Some people connected to the deal say the judge came up with the idea several months ago and began talking with interested parties about the concept. We're told "the astrodome will remain."

Judge Emmett has been battling to preserve the building, despite other proposals to tear it down.
