One of the two women involved in a deadly police chase in 2013 was convicted of murder today.

Howard and another woman were arrested after they crashed their vehicle into a car, killing a mother and seriously injuring her two young children.

The women were being chased by Humble police at the time of the crash. They were wanted for shoplifting at Deerbrook Mall.

Shortly after the crash, Howard issued an emotional apology to the victims in court. "It was an accident," she said. "What more can we say? We apologize."

Howard's case is now entering the sentencing phase.
