ARVADA, CO (KTRK) -- Rebecca Montano said something did not feel right when a young mother holding a baby walked up to the checkout at her convenience store.
"I'm a mother, I'm a grandmother. It's motherly instinct to worry about children," said Rebecca Montano.
Within seconds, the young mother began having a seizure and Montano pulled the baby from her arms just before she collapsed.
Montano told KDVR, she decided to reach for the baby. All the while, she was trying to talk to the mother, but the woman wouldn't say anything. She just kept swaying back and forth.
It was all caught on surveillance camera at a store in Arvada, Colorado.
"I came over to help the girl and she was having a seizure," Montano said.
Montano called 911 and paramedics arrived. Montano handed the baby to a customer as she gave assistance to the woman. The woman who had the seizure is fine and so is her baby, all thanks to Montano.
People keep calling Montano a hero, but she said she's just an average person who did a good thing.
