Meet the newest ABC13 babies!

HOUSTON

Reporter Simon Gutierrez became a first-time father with the birth of son Orion Alexander. Orion was born May 29 and weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces.

"So happy to be a dad!" Simon posted, along with a photo, on his Facebook page to announce the birth of his son.

Simon and his girlfriend, Christina, are enjoying parenthood. He said having a baby has been the most incredible experience of his life.

"Those little smiles and giggles make the sleepless nights just melt into the backdrop," Simon said. "Having him in our lives is such a blessing."

Katishia Cosley, host of Deals on the Live Well Network, had baby Frankie Jr. on June 4. He weighed in at 7 pounds 9 ounces.

Frankie Jr. is the first child of Kat and husband Frankie Trigg.

"Parenthood is much more work than I could ever have imagined! It never ends! It had been quite an adjustment since my husband and I have been alone for the past 12 years, but I wouldn't change it for the world," Kat said. "Frankie Jr. has been a joy. I never thought I could love so much!"

Reporter Miya Shay and husband Gene Wu welcomed son Wintson Wangchen on September 24. Winston is their first child. He weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces.

"As a first time mom, it's been an amazing experience so far," Miya said. "Besides the love you instantly feel for your own child, there is an enormous sense of responsibility. We want to show him the world, experience every aspect of excitement life has to offer."

Miya said she is adjusting to motherhood and staying busy with her newborn.

"Really, it's amazing how a person so little can consume your life! He's also constantly hungry! It's still early, but I have really enjoyed visits and advice from friends. We took him to vote already!" she said. "We want to raise a good, engaged, and caring young man. But I'll start with sleeping through the night."

Next was reporter Jessica Willey. She and her husband had their third child, Bobbie Anne, into the world on September 30. Bobbie weighed 6 pounds 9 ounces. She was born a little early, but is perfectly healthy!

Jessica said on her Facebook page that Bobbie Anne is named after her great-grandmother and grandmother, respectively. Bobbie's older brother, 6, and sister, 4, are enjoying their new baby sibling.

"We are enjoying our little blessing. It's been four years since middle-of-the-night feedings, so that's taken some adjustment," Jessica said. "Bobbie's big brother, Charlie, and big sister, Bryn, have been good little helpers; although Bryn (middle child) had a very 'Brady Bunch' moment the other day, saying, 'It's always Bobbie, Bobbie, Bobbie,' with a Jan Brady cadence. I couldn't help but giggle."

The most recent addition is ABC13 reporter and anchor Elissa Rivas' baby Sophia, born Sunday at 7 pounds 13 ounces. Sophia is the second child of Elissa and husband Chris Stipes. They have another daughter, Vanessa, who is 6.

Elissa said both she and the baby are doing great.

And the baby train doesn't stop there. Meteorologist Casey Curry is next. Casey and husband Carl Hahn are expecting their first child in February.

We would also like to congratulate our behind-the-scenes team members who have welcomed new babies this year, including Photographer Charles Fisher, Photographer Alex Luster, Assignment Editor Sheletta Brundidge, Producer Holly Schueler Adams and Producer Lauren Blevins.
