Sketches released in murder of food truck owner in northwest Harris County

HOUSTON

Investigators say after the murder of a mobile food vender in broad daylight, it's possible that other vendors could be targeted as well.

Officials want you to see two composite sketches of the suspects. The getaway driver is the one on the left, bald with a Texans tattoo on his head. The one on the right is the shooter. He's described as a Hispanic male in his early 20's with a teardrop tattoo on his face.

Detectives say both men entered the food truck at about 3:25pm Saturday, as it sat at 8110 Fairbanks North Houston Road. The suspects pretended to be customers before trying to rob Vasquez. He did everything he could to try to stop them.

Detective Abraham Alanis with the Harris County Sheriff's Office said, "A Hispanic male approached the business, asked for some food. While they were getting ready to prepare the food, the male entered the business through one of the doors. The victim confronted the suspect and they were involved in a physical altercation. The suspect then shot the victim multiple times."

The victim's wife was also in the mobile food truck at the time, but she was not injured.

Detectives believe the getaway car is a tan four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota or Honda.
