A federal judge in El Paso on Tuesday sentenced 46-year-old Joachim Rudolf Hees (HAYS). Hees formerly taught in the Canutillo Independent School District.
The FBI in 2008 searched the educator's home and seized three computers. Investigators found nearly 600 images of child porn on the devices. Hees in January pleaded guilty to receipt of child porn.
Hees, who received a 90-month prison term, had been the computer literacy teacher at Canutillo Middle School. He later resigned.
