It happened around 2am on Hidalgo at Post Oak near the Houston Galleria.
Houston police say the driver was traveling from the West Loop ramp to the Hidalgo and Post Oak exit. The car took a curve too fast and slammed into the tree.
A female passenger was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital. At last check, she was stable.
There is no word on whether the driver will face any charges.
