The Houston Police Department is being honored for its work in the Jonathan Foster case.

Foster was kidnapped on Christmas Eve. Days later, his badly burned body was found. After investigators arrested Mona Nelson, they talked publicly about the emotional toll of this gruesome case.

At this afternoon's city council meeting, Texas EquuSearch gave HPD plaques of appreciation for their hard work and dedication to the case.

Nelson is scheduled to be in court later this week.
