Police: Bexar Co. man who abducted ex may be in Houston

HOUSTON

Police are searching for Michael Attra and his missing ex-girlfriend, Belinda Messervy.

Police say Messervy made a frantic phone call to her mother on Tuesday morning that Attra was trying to come into her San Antonio home. When family members who live nearby ran over to Messervy's home, they found the back door of her house open and items scattered throughout the bedroom.

Last Wednesday, Messervy had filed a complaint with the San Antonio Police Department after Attra allegedly assaulted her, and an arrested warrant for assault was issued.

Family members believe Attra may have taken Messervy to Houston, where he has family, because he had tried to take her to the Bayou City before the attack.

Attra may be driving Messervy's silver-colored 2000 BMW 52A four-door with license plate number CG5J671. The vehicle has not been found.

Attra has a criminal history which includes theft, assault B1- married, burglary of habitation and four counts of violations of protective order against Messervy.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Messervy or Atrra is encouraged to contact the Bexar County Sheriff's Office at 210-335-6000.
