Bill White rallies voters in Houston

HOUSTON The Democrat knocked on doors in southwest Houston this morning, then stopped by his campaign headquarters to talk where staffers are busy making telephone calls.

White says he knows he's the underdog, but he's seen a lot of enthusiasm and a desire for change on the campaign trail.

"There are people from Republicans, Democrats and independents who just want a governor who will shoot straight and run this state like a well-run business, not like a political machine," White said.

White is attending election rallies in Dallas Saturday evening.

Governor Rick Perry took a break from campaigning Saturday to cheer on the Aggies. He was in College Station for the football game between Texas A&M and Texas Tech.

The Republican incumbent will be in our area Sunday for three campaign rallies.

Perry will visit Safari Texas Ranch in Sugar Land, Harris County Smokehouse in Tomball and Skeeter's Mesquite Grill in Kingwood.
