Well-known local fitness consultant closes business

HOUSTON

Shaun Kelley closed his weight loss center on Tuesday after filing for bankruptcy.

Kelley told us a major food company approached him about a joint business venture, and was not interested in the fitness industry.

He said he will honor his commitment to clients to help them lose weight, but he's not refunding any money.

Some clients feel he breached contracts because they cannot work out at a Shaun Kelley gym.

"Absolutely not, they came there to lose weight," Kelley said. "They didn't come there to see Shaun Kelley's name, and if they did they came for the wrong reason."

Kelley said another gym nearby decided to pick up his clients and trainers.
