Principal accused of stealing public funds

WALLER, TX

Fields Store Elementary School Principal Mary Dee Davis is charged with felony theft-greater than $20,000 and less than $100,000, a Waller County District Clerk's office spokesperson said. She was indicted this week.

In a parent letter dated February 17, the school district announced that an administrator at the school was suspended with pay while authorities investigated claims she inappropriately used school district funds.

The letter stated the school district was working with the Waller and Harris County sheriff's offices to conduct the allegations.

"All Waller Independent School District employees are expected to serve as role models for our students and demonstrate exemplary conduct," the letter had stated.

Davis has not yet been arrested.
