Authorities have seized about 60 dogs and three horses from a northeastern Texas property where they also found about 11 dead animals placed in plastic bags and stored in a barn. The SPCA of Texas, an animal welfare agency, says it seized the animals Wednesday Fannin County under the authority of the sheriff's department.

The SPCA says some of the dogs weren't getting proper care and some lacked adequate food and water. It says many dogs were found severely underweight or emaciated, and many had no access to water or only had access to filthy water. The dogs inside were living in filth.

A custody hearing will be held March 4 in Bonham.
