All five inmates who tried to escape from a prison near Livingston are now back in prison and they'll be held in single cells for 23 hours a day. We told you on Friday that Juan Quintero and four other men serving life sentences tried to get out of the Polunsky Unit. Three were shot by guards and taken to an area hospital. The other two suffered lacerations and were returned to the unit.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice told us the three men who were shot are back behind bars Sunday after receiving medical treatment.

Quintero is serving time for murdering Houston Police Officer Rodney Johnson in 2006. All five will face felony attempted escape charges.
