Texas wants high-speed rail

HOUSTON The state submitted a preliminary grant application to the federal government. The money would be used to eventually link Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio. The grants are to be awarded later this year.

Texas may not get any money though. Federal guidelines favor states that have already moved toward developing high-speed rail.
