Girl dies after being hit exiting bus

Constables say the suspect was not only driving drunk but also fled the scene trying to hide his vehicle.

The girl from Bleyl Middle School of Cy-Fair ISD was feet away from her home on East Cypress Forest near Lynn when investigators say John Jacob Winne, 30, ran a stop sign.

Investigators say Winne's white Lexus slammed into the school bus then hit the girl who had just gotten off. We're told he then fled the scene trying to hide his car. Constables say Winne fought with deputies when they arrived but was arrested.

Winne has two DWI convictions from 2007 and this year. He now faces intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid.
