Westbury Rebels dominate Wheatley

HOUSTON Rebels took on Wheatley in the first round of the 4a division 1 playoffs.

First play from scrimmage, Westbury running back Charles Simms makes a 38 yard gain. Simms, who is headed to UofH, had 120 yards rushing.

That run set up Simms on a short touchdown run to make it 7-0 Rebels.

End of the first, Javari Leggins spins his way through the Westbury defense. Leggins hits 160 yards on 27 carries.

That sets up Eddie Williams on the first play of the 2nd quarter, 7-6 Westbury.

Wheatley not doing themselves any favors snap on the punt over Carlos Roque's head. That gives Westbury the ball on the 6.

Next play, Chris Bernard scores. Benard carries 82 yards and two touchdowns.

Khalum Brewer runs and throws for scores, hooks up with Ke'von Williams 18 yards on the play. That makes it 21-6 Rebels.

Westbury goes on to win 42-21. They advance to play Friendswood Saturday afternoon at GPISD Stadium.
