Purse snatcher injures elderly woman

HOUSTON On Thursday, July 24, 2008, around 12:30pm, an 88-year-old woman was walking along the front sidewalk of the Fiesta Store near the 14300 block of Bellaire Blvd. when she was approached from behind by a black male. The suspect pushed her to the ground and stole her purse.

The man then got into the passenger side of a blue and gold Lincoln Town Car. The car fled south on South Highway 6. The victim sustained minor injuries to her face, arm and elbow. The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20's, 5'9" to 5'11" tall with a skinny build. He had a goatee and was wearing a doo-rag at the time of the robbery.

The same Lincoln Town Car was seen in the parking lot of a Liquor Store near the 6200 block of South Highway 6 around the same time the robbery occurred. The owner of the Liquor Store saw two unidentified males in the vehicle. The suspects allegedly attempted to rob another person in the Liquor Store parking lot but the victim left the scene before the police arrived.

The car is an older model blue Lincoln Town Car with gold trim around the bottom. The car did not have a license plate and the driver's side mirror was broken and hanging down the side of the car.
