RICHMOND, TX (KTRK) -- A Houston Regional Amber Alert has been canceled for a missing two-year-old boy.

The child was found safe in Chandler, Texas early this morning. Police say he was abducted by his father, Richard Brashear, 39. Brashear has been taken into custody for questioning.

Richmond police believe Brashear assaulted the boy's maternal grandmother before taking the child. Police earlier believed the abduction was due to divorce issues. The child's mother does has a restraining order against Brashear.
