Amarillo police investigate man, woman found dead in duplex

AMARILLO, TX (KTRK) -- Amarillo police are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman whose bodies were found by some acquaintances when they dropped by the home.

Police said preliminary autopsy results Friday revealed the cause of death for both people was listed as undetermined. Toxicology results are expected in a few weeks.

Lt. Erick Bohannon says 45-year-old Tyrone Titus and 42-year-old Dana Atkins were discovered dead Thursday in the duplex they shared.

Bohannon says police are not sure how the pair died and there's no indication of a break-in at the residence. Bohannon says both deaths are being investigated as suspicious.

The lieutenant says the people who found the bodies had stopped by for a visit or possibly needed a ride.

Bohannon says a neighbor did not report hearing anything amiss.
