ALIEF, Texas (KTRK) -- An Alief ISD teacher said she's feeling 'so grateful' after her co-workers surprised her with a new car at school on Thursday.
Educators said the teacher, Mrs. Crump, had been commuting to work at Cummings Elementary every day in a car that had no back window and faulty doors on the passenger's side.
Despite the inconvenience, colleagues said they never heard Crump complain or let the issue stop her from coming in to work.
"I'm just so excited," Crump said. "So thankful, so grateful. It means a whole lot."
According to other employees, principal Jeanette Byrd sent out an email to the staff with fundraising ideas for the car. Within three days, they met their goal and purchased the new car.
