Waller County approves Sandra Bland wrongful death lawsuit settlement

Waller County Commissioners voted to approve a settlement in the Sandra Bland wrongful death lawsuit Wednesday.

According to attorney Larry Simmons, who represents Waller County in the lawsuit, commissioners will review the settlement during executive session in Wednesday's meeting.

The Bland family told Eyewitness News last week they have reached a $1.9 million settlement with Waller County.

Simmons previously said Waller County will only be responsible for a $1,000 deductible. He said the settlement would remain confidential until finalized.
