Officers play with Alvin boy
Grant, 3, got a lot more than he bargained for when he waived to four state troopers in Alvin Saturday.

ALVIN, TX -- In the wake of the tragic shooting of Deputy Darren Goforth last month, we're seeing and hearing great stories of how the community and law enforcement officers are coming together.

Another such encounter happened Saturday night in Alvin. Samantha Bennett posted that as she and her family were coming out of a Chili's restaurant, her 3-year-old son, Grant, waved at four state troopers.

Instead of just a wave back, these troopers went above and beyond for Grant and it sure made an impression on him and his family, as his mother's Facebook post explains.

If you have stories about the community coming together with law enforcement officers, we want to hear about it. Email the story and a photo or photos to us at news@abc13.com.
