For the second straight year, the Lee College Debate Team capped off a record-setting season by earning a trio of national championship titles: the 2014-2015 International Public Debate Association (IPDA) Season-Long Community College Champions, the 2015 IPDA National Championship Tournament Community College Champions, and the 2014-2015 Team IPDA Squad National Championship.

The team success was augmented by outstanding individual performances, with the duo of Captains Cody Bijou and Reagan Dobbs - both founding members of the Debate Team and newly inducted members of the Lee College Hall of Fame - capturing the 2014-2015 Team IPDA National Championship.

"At first, all we wanted was to establish something that would last longer than our own time on campus," said Bijou, who has already earned an associate degree in instrumentation and will graduate this May with an additional degree in speech and communications.

"Now we're the top community college in the association," he said. "The fact that we've been able to literally write history is amazing. Everyone is constantly putting their best foot forward."

Both Bijou and Dobbs will continue their debate careers next year after earning full scholarships to complete their undergraduate education at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
