GARLAND, NC -- Authorities say six people have died in a house fire in eastern North Carolina.
Sampson County deputies said in a news release that the fire was reported around 1 a.m. Saturday. Authorities found five bodies in the rubble of the mobile home immediately, and a sixth victim was found a few hours later.
Deputies and the Sampson County Fire Marshal's Office are investigating the cause of the blaze. Sheriff's Capt. Eric Pope says there was no immediate evidence it was intentionally set.
The names of the victims or their relationships to each other have not been released.
Pope says no one was able to escape the blaze.
Garland is a town of about 600 people around 75 miles south of Raleigh.
