Teacher gets probation over lap dance for student's birthday

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A middle school teacher who was accused of giving a student a lap dance in class will now serve three years' probation.

Records show Felicia Smith pleaded guilty to charges of improper relationship with a student. Aldine ISD police say back in February, Smith was in her classroom at Stovall Middle School and gave a 15-year-old boy a lap dance for his birthday -- in front of other students.

Smith said she did the dance because the class convinced her to do it.
