1 dead, 1 hurt, toddler safe after shots fired inside vehicle in SW Houston parking lot, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An investigation is underway after one man was shot and killed and another was hospitalized following a shooting in southwest Houston on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Houston Police Department, the shooting call dropped at about 4:10 p.m. in a vehicle outside a Wells Fargo Bank on 10005 Beechnut Street.

Authorities say there were four people, including two men, one woman, and a girl toddler inside the vehicle during the shooting.

Two men were shot; one was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to a hospital, according to police. The woman and the toddler, who were in the backseat of the car, are safe.

SkyEye was over the area on Beechnut Street, where multiple law enforcement vehicles were seen.

Police say a caller stated that she didn't know who was shot after hearing shots fired outside the parking lot.

Police say that no one is in custody.

Any details regarding what started the shooting are still limited.
