Let's do a splurge versus the steal with these beauty products.

First up:

*Chubby Lip Pencil

Lipstick Queen $22 vs. No. 7 $10

Summer time is a great time to switch up your lip color to something sheer. A sheer but hydrating touch of color is ideal because it can easily take you from day to night. Everyone loves lip color by Lipstick Queen but it can be a little pricey at $22. So if you want to try this look without the big investment, try High Shine Lip Crayon from No. 7. At $10 it's a great deal.

Second up:

*Matte Liquid Lip

Stila $24 vs L'Oreal infallible $10

Another beautiful lip color look for summer is a matte liquid lip. This type of lip color has been popular for a while but has mostly only been available in higher priced cosmetics lines. Tarte has a great liquid lip color which retails for $24. An opaque matte lip is very dramatic and isn't something that everyone feels comfortable with. If you want to give it a try, pick up Liquid Lip from L'Oreal's Infallable line. It sells for $10 at Walgreens.

Next up:

*Lightweight Hair Oil

Kerastase $55 vs. L'Oreal $8

Summer heat and outdoor activities almost always means that our hair can appear drier than normal. If you haven't already added a nourishing oil to your hair care routine, this is a great time to try it. The gold standard in Hair Care products is Kerastase. Their newest oil, just in time for summer is $55. This is a very lightweight but hydrating formula that will help protect the hair from the summertime elements. Instead, try a very similar product from L'Oreal which is actually the parent company to Kerastase. The L'Oreal Repair 5 Dry Oil will only cost about $8 and it will easily last all summer long.

Next up:

*Waterproof Mascara

Tarte $21 vs No. 7 $9

Waterproof mascara becomes a staple item during the summer. It's great to keep some on hand just in case you make some last minute plans. No matter what you pay for your waterproof mascara, many of them make the lashes overly stiff and brittle. We have found 2 that do an amazing job at keep your lashes thick and lush without causing damage. Tarte's Lights Camera, Splashes is a sure bet but pricey at $21. If that's not in the budget, pick up the No. 7 Waterproof mascara instead. It's only $9.

Next up:

*Makeup Setting Spray

Urban Decay $30 v. L'Oreal Infallible $18

For years, the best makeup setting spray was from Urban Decay. The name of the product is All Nighters Spray because it literally keeps the makeup in place for hours. This is a great summer time product because it will help get you through the heat of the day without your makeup melting off. UD ALS is about $30 but now you can spend less to get similar results with L'Oreal's setting spray. It's only $18

Lastly:

*Gel Moisture

Algenist Moisture $65 v. Garnier Gel Moisture $9

The heat and humidity during the summer months makes some people feel like they don't want or need facial moisturizer. The truth is that your skin still needs the same hydration as the cooler months because it is exposed to more drying elements such as AC, Sun, Chlorine and Salt Water. You may want to switch your moisturizer to a lighter formulation that will absorb better and not leave you feeling greasy. Try a Gel Moisturizer. Algenist makes a wonderful one but it's an investment at $65. Instead try Garnier's Gel moisturizer, just to see it you like the consistency and feel. It is only $9 and it's available at Walgreens.
