Family of 6 safely escapes burning home

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A family all escaped safely when their northwest Houston home caught on fire.

It happened just after 2:00am this morning at a home on Barney and Lang.

Residents told firefighters they were all asleep when one of them was woken up by the sound of the fire burning on the back patio. That resident woke everyone up, and the 4 adults and 2 children all got out safely.

Arson investigators are on the scene and have not yet determined the cause and origin of the fire. The flames were contained to the back patio, and there is no fire damage to the inside of the home.
