1 dead after car crosses into oncoming traffic in Spring

SPRING, Texas (KTRK) -- One person was killed Tuesday after they drove into oncoming traffic on FM 2920, Harris County Sheriff's deputies said.

It happened around 4:45 p.m. in the 7500 block of FM-2920 near Emerald Mist Parkway.

An eastbound Nissan Versa crossed into the westbound lanes and collided with a Jeep, according to a statement from the sheriff's office.

The driver of the Versa was taken to Tomball Regional Hospital, where he died. The Jeep's driver was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital-The Woodlands with non-life threatening injuries, deputies said.

FM 2920 was closed for a time while authorities worked to find out what happened.
