HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Homicide detectives are investigating after a woman's body was discovered in a southeast Houston cemetery.

Houston police said the discovery was reported at about 10 a.m. Workers found the woman at Forest Park Cemetery in the 6900 block of Lawndale.

"An employee that does digging and landscape work here was driving a tractor through the cemetery and observed her lying in the grass," said HPD homicide investigator Brian Chebret.

The circumstances surrounding the woman's death are not yet known. She has only been identified as a middle-aged white female, and she was found partially clothed.

Investigators are asking for the public's help.

"[We're] just looking for witnesses that may have been in the area, last night or this morning, and go from there," said Chebret. "We need to get her identified so we can figure out who her friends and family are."
