5-year-old boy who was reported missing in Katy area found dead: Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- The search for a missing 5-year-old boy in the Katy area has ended after his body was found in a lake near his home overnight, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office gave the tragic update after deputies said the child was found dead at about 1:43 a.m. on Monday.

Five-year-old Edward Hall, who deputies said had autism and was non-verbal, was reported missing on Sunday and had last been seen in the 3800 block of Ryans Rock Court at about 10:30 a.m. Officials described the boy as having black hair with loose curls, wearing black pants, a black T-shirt featuring Elmo on the front, and no shoes. Later on Sunday, at around 6 p.m., an AMBER Alert was issued, urging anyone with information about the boy to call FBCSO.

Authorities said the family has been notified of the boy's death, adding that there is no indication of foul play.
