Major delays are expected on Louetta after a deadly incident involving a train and pedestrian

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- We're learning new details after a man was struck and killed by a train in northwest Harris County early this morning.

Louetta near Vintage Preserve Parkway has reopened after it was shut down for several hours for the accident investigation.

Harris County Sheriff's deputies said the man who died here was hit about 300 yards down the tracks from Louetta.

It is not clear why he was on the tracks. Deputies are trying to determine just what happened, whether he was trying to cross the tracks or if this was something intentional.

Investigators told ABC13 there is video from the train of the victim's final moments, but they haven't seen that footage yet.

Someone on the train reportedly called 911 when it all happened.

There weren't any other witnesses because the incident played out in the woods, again hundreds of yards away from Louetta Road.

The victim's name or age is not known.
