Leaders revealed the facelift for Discovery Green's playground. Thanks to a gift from the McGovern Foundation, the park received new surfacing and equipment. Hundreds of toddlers enjoyed the chance to climb on the snazzy playground. The new look was more than a year in the making.
For parents like Sally Diaz, they welcomed the new place to bring their children.
"I have four kids, so it's great to have somewhere to take them to," said Diaz. "It's a great park with a lot of things to offer."
Discovery Green opened just six years ago. Eyewitness News learned since park attendance exceed expectation, equipment wore out sooner than expected.
