The accident happened at around 2:10pm in the 9100 block of Scott Street. According to police, a blue Pontiac Grand Prix and silver Pontiac G6 were traveling at a high rate of speed southbound when the Grand Prix lost control and struck a tree.
One person was ejected and died at the scene. At least five others were transported to Ben Taub and Memorial Hermann Hospitals in unknown conditions.
An investigation is ongoing.
