The Coast Guard says Patrick Holden, 27, and 26-year-old Joe Squibb were traveling via a 25-foot sailboat from Port Aransas. Holden's wife told them the two were supposed to arrive in Galveston Sunday night but she hasn't heard from them.
The Coast Guard now is conducting a search 50 nautical miles offshore from Port Aransas to Galveston, and they're using helicopters and airplanes from Air Stations Corpus Christi, Houston, Mobile, Ala. and Clearwater, Fla.
The Coast Guard requests anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of the sailboat or crew to contact the Coast Guard 8th District command center at (504) 589-6225.
