Charges have been filed against a driver accused in a hit-and-run accident that left a Harris County Sheriff's Office deputy injured.

Oscar Minjare Sanchez, Jr., 30, is charged with failure to stop and render aid. According to court documents, back on August 11 at a little past 2am, Sanchez was driving in a pickup truck when he rear-ended a vehicle driven by Deputy Gaisila Goudeau on Tomball Parkway near Northpointe.

Investigators say Goudeau had just pulled onto the highway to assist other deputies in a pursuit when she was hit by Sanchez's pickup.

According to investigators, Sanchez drove away after the accident.

Sanchez told investigators that recalls seeing the deputy's vehicle, but doesn't remember being in an accident.

Sanchez suffered a broken arm and shattered ankle in the incident, as well as bruised ribs.

Sanchez was taken into custody and bond was set at $20,000.
