Teen found fatally shot in northwest Harris County

HOUSTON

Harris County Deputies were called out to complex on the 7300 block of Alabonson, after neighbors reported a series of shootings. Investigators say they found the body of a 17-year old male in a rear parking lot. The young victim died from apparent gunshot wounds, according Sergeant G. Pickins of the Harris County Sheriff's Office's Homicide Unit.

"I heard boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom! I was like oh my god," one neighbor said.

Tenants at the complex say several neighbors rushed to help the teenage victim immediately after the shooting. One neighbor said the teen tried talking as he died in their arms.

"He took his last breath in my arms. He gasped, and his tongue started moving like he was trying to say something, and I seen it in his chest," neighbor Aubrey Douglas Jr. said.

Harris County deputies say they don't believe the shooting was gang related, and they don't know whether it was a drive-by.

Neighbors say the deadly shooting has them concerned about safety at the complex.

"This is a sad time of the year for something like this to happen," one neighbor said.

Tenants say there was a shooting incident on the property last week, in addition to another homicide about six months ago.

"For whatever reason, it's getting pretty bad around here, and I don't feel safe anymore," Douglas Jr. said.

The medical examiner's office has not yet identified the homicide victim.

Investigators are urging anyone with information about the homicide to call CrimeStoppers at 713-222(TIPS).
