Coast Guard investigating collision of 2 barges

HOUSTON

Both barges were damaged but no injuries were reported and neither barge spilled any of its cargo. One barge was carrying about 945,000 gallons of crude oil and the other had about 1,500 tons of calcium chloride.

The collision occurred around 12:50 a.m. Monday near Sievers Cove. Both barges were being pushed by tug boats at the time.
