Woman accused of stealing cigarellos leads police on chase

PEARLAND, TX

It all started shortly after 10am with a robbery at a Phillips 66 gas station at 4824 W. Broadway in Pearland. The clerk says a woman walked into the business and tried to purchase cigarettes. The clerk asked for ID, which the woman wasn't able to produce.

The woman then reportedly walked around the counter and grabbed a pack of Zig Zag cigarillos and fled the store in her vehicle.

The clerk reportedly followed in her own car and flagged down Pearland police.

Officers found the suspect's vehicle traveling northbound on Mykawa and gave chase. The suspect crashed into a pole on W. Orem near Mykawa.

SkyEye 13 HD flew over the scene as she struggled with three officers trying to subdue her, before finally lying down on the ground. She was taken into custody.

The woman has been identified as Temira Haywood. She faces charged of robbery and evading arrest.
