Police release video from fatal gas station shooting

HOUSTON

The shooting happened around 7:30pm Sunday in the parking lot of a gas station in the 6300 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Police say the victim, 28-year-old Johnny Terrell Armstead, and another man were inside a gray Nissan Rogue SUV when the suspect got out of a car parked nearby, and fired at least two bullets into the SUV. Armstead, who was hit in the shoulder, got out of the car and started running. But a short distance later he collapsed and died.

The suspect returned to his car and fled north on MLK.

The other man who was with Armstead was not injured in the shooting.

The suspect is described only as a black male, 28 to 32 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a light tan, long sleeve button-down shirt, light-colored slacks and had a short fade hair style. The car fled in was described as a white 2008 or newer model Grand Prix.
